About Us

Hi, I’m Ross Canpolat…

I would like to welcome you to my site which first went live on January 1st 2012. I started the site because i was sitting in on new years eve while everyone else was out partying it up. Since then the site went live has received over half a million unique visitors from around the globe and i now have over 1000 active members in the hidden members section (find the easter eggs to get in there) Not bad in only 6 months eh? ;)

My next line for the site is to push it out of Beta and start to monetize the site. Its about time it started to pay for itself. If i can cover the costs of the domain name and the dedicated server for the year i’ll be more then happy. So expect annoying adverts in the near future (note: this has already started and i’ve made 25 cent so far – yay)

I’ve been geeking it up ever since the mid 90′s when i used my first computer. My first experience was with a Pentium 2, Windows 95 computer and god have we and I come a long way since then. I really got into computers when i hit 13 and i would spend my pocket money on computer magazines. I read about 3 of them a week educating myself about hardware, software and the latest new products to the market. At the same time i also started to grow a passion for music. I started playing guitar which helped shape me into the person i am today. I eventually managed to get into the Balleyfermot Rock School after my Leaving Certificate which was an absolute blast for 2 years of my life.

Since then i’ve been doing freelance web development for small companies and i’ve been trying to perfect my networking skills. I seemed to have developed a strong passion for network hacking, exploits, and phishing attacks. With the knowledge i’ve learned i’ve decided to start up this blog to educate others on what i’ve learned and how they too can hack the shit out of their neighbors networks ;)

I still play guitar, i enjoy doing sound engineering in my free time and i seem to have also developed a strange passion for cooking.
So now that you know a bit about me i hope you like my articles and tutorials. If you have any comments feel free to hit me up on the comments sections on each post or use the contact form on the above menu. I would love for others to get involved in my little project and if anyone else out there would like to submit articles to the blog i would gladly host them (pending they are relevant to hacking).

Don’t forget… be sneaky, be safe and stay 133t

Hi, I’m Oneiroi…

Oneiroi is somewhat of a networking fanatic. Completely self taught, he has been “tinkering” and dissecting computer systems and networks since his very early teens. Standard computer use back then never really cut for him, once the initial buzz of windows – which was very, very short lived – had worn off, he began exploring more of the “guts” of computing.

“I remember that this was directly as a result of constant windows blue screens, hangs and crashes. These constant annoyances in the end drove me to wonder about the underlying problems, so I began my adventures with MS-DOS, and basic coding, which opened up a door that I excitedly walked through and have never looked back since.

I cant remember what exactly was the first computer i got my hands on, it was a Compaq box of some sorts, running win95, which i nonetheless proceeded to break and rebuild several times over – why? why not? -wry smile.

As time progressed, I came upon the great and hallowed ground that is Linux, my operating system of choice to this day – without which my “self-education” would not be half as much fun. I have recently began looking at compiling my own Linux kernel version – watch this space!

Today my fascination of computers continues, and now my focus is aimed squarely at networking, specifically networking security.

It still makes for jaw-dropping amazement on my behalf – the daily evidence of complete security naivety, not only in minor computing/networking environments, but all too often in the larger technology and communication corporations with whom we interact with daily.

All it takes is a two second Google search to see a never ending list of information security breaches, network & database compromises and general despicable performance of the companies that we entrust daily with our most sensitive and private information. Anyway, rant over!

I have used my knowledge to offer services in network conceptualizing, design and installation, administration, and penetration testing etc.

Also keeping me busy is the wonderful world programming, with endeavors into Perl, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails and others.

I’m currently also working towards my certification routes, with Cisco’s CCNA>CNP, CEH, CompTIA’s  Security +, Networks+, Linux +, and others all in my sights.

Also, in my spare time, and to unplug, Ive been know to be a bit of whiz in the kitchen, as well as cooking up some dodgy beats with the likes of Reason and Ableton.

Here at Insanity Pop, I’ll be aiming to provide as many insights, articles, and tutorials/how-to’s of how it is that this wonderful electronic world that we live in today works.

I will be usually leaning towards the security side of things, and will from time-time touch on hacking issues, purely for educational and illustration purposes, of course, and if anyone would like to get in touch, i can always be reached at oneiroi.wolke@gmail.com
